The Russian, East European, and Eurasian Center provides funding for course development grants in any discipline concerned with Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia or for the development of material relevant to the region within a broader course. The grant may be used to revise existing courses or develop new courses, although new courses are preferred. Applicants are expected to make a commitment to teach the proposed course within two years of receipt of the grant.

Applications should include:

  • A letter of application including: name, department affiliation, address, and e-mail.
  • A brief (2 page) proposal outlining the course to be revised or developed and the activities to be undertaken with the grant. Please include the course title and the rubric under which the course will be offered. Proposals for integrating material into a new or existing course should make clear how and the extent the integrated material will be used within the course.
  • A brief budget; if you plan to take the entire amount as salary or service in excess, please simply indicate that this is your preference

In your proposal, please specify when and how often the course is or will be offered.  Please also identify a semester in the next two years when you will offer the course..
