REEEC was happy to host the Illinois ACTR Olympiada of Spoken Russian on March 13, 2023. The Olympiada brought over thirty high school Russian language students from The Noble Academy, Pritzker College Prep, Glenbrook North High School, and By the Onion Sea to our campus for the day to participate in various language evaluations and to learn about our programs at the U of I.

Thank you to Erik Houle (Lecturer and Slavic Languages Program Coordinator, University of Chicago's Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures) for his invaluable help in organizing this event, Justin Balcor (PhD Candidate, Musicology, UIUC) for the wonderful presentation of musical instruments from around the region, and all the judges who contributed to the success of this event.
