Shannon Flynn

Shannon is a first-year student in the joint M.A. in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies and M.S. in Library and Information Science program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Originally from Syracuse, NY, she received her B.A. in History, with a minor in Film Studies, from Buffalo State University in 2026. Her professional experience includes work in archives and audiovisual collections at the Onondaga Historical Association, as well as historical research using oral testimony during an internship with Post Bellum in Prague. She has also presented research at the 2024 Pop Culture Association National Conference in Chicago on shifting representations of apocalypse and ideological collapse in the films of Konstantin Lopushansky. At Illinois, she works with the REEES department on the Bulgarian Studies Initiative.
