INTERNATIONAL STUDIES RESEARCH LAB (ISRL)
- Current faculty or instructors at community colleges or minority-serving institutions
- Available to attend SRL during July 16-29, 2017
In the spirit of scholarly collaboration, the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Center (REEEC) and the Center for Global Studies (CGS) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invite applications from community college and minority serving institution faculty and instructors to attend the International Studies Research Lab (ISRL). Participants with research and/or curriculum development interests in the Russian, East European and Eurasian region will receive access to the resources of the University of Illinois collection, and have the opportunity to seek advice and research support from the librarians of the Slavic Reference Service (SRS) and the International and Area Studies Library, including a bibliographic session.
ISRL participants can stay at the University of Illinois for up to fourteen days between July 16 and July 29. Through the Center for Global Studies, participants will receive up to seven nights lodging (a shared 3-bedroom suite with two bathrooms) at Presby Hall and paid parking. A $1000 research honorarium is available, contingent upon receipt of a syllabus for a new or updated course, a white paper, a library collection development plan, or a plan for new international education programs by November 1, 2017. A joint workshop will be held on July 21, allowing participants the opportunity to discuss their current work and collaborate with other ISRL participants from REEEC and the Center for Global Studies. Participants will also be expected to respond to requests for additional information for grant reporting purposes.
