In the spirit of scholarly advancement and collaboration, the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Center at the University of Illinois (REEEC) invites applications from junior scholars to attend the Summer Research Lab (SRL) with support from the Fisher Fellow Award. The award is generously funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Title VIII Program.
The Fisher Fellow Award is presented in honor of Dr. Ralph Fisher, the founder of SRL, REEEC and a champion for building the Slavic collection at the University of Illinois Library. Thanks to Fisher’s vision, the University Library and Slavic Reference Service (SRS) provide a consummate collection and outstanding research support service to scholars around the world.
The recipient of the 2018 Fisher Fellow Award will attend SRL at the University of Illinois during the month of June for a minimum of ten days and receive full domestic travel support, lodging, parking (if applicable), and a research stipend. While in attendance at SRL, the Fisher Fellow will receive bibliographic training sessions at SRS. The selected Fisher Fellow will be expected to produce a white paper at a later date based on their findings while in residence at Illinois.
- Graduate Student at dissertation stage or post-doctorate scholar (<5 years following PhD).
- Available to attend SRL during June 2018.
